One of the most exotic looking birds we saw in Florida last April was this Anhinga. We often saw them in flight but at high altitudes. So I was excited to get a great look at this one perched in tree over the water at J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The Anhinga is a large water bird and is able to spear fish with its partially opened bill.
