Female Belted Kingfisher: One bird that had eluded me for a long time was the Belted Kingfisher. They are extremely wary and therefore it is difficult to get close enough for good photos. However, the very first time I set up a blind to photograph Wood Ducks, within minutes this Kingfisher perched just outside where I had hidden. That’s when I knew my blind was going to work!
